Beef Brisket

Beef Brisket (Serves 6-8)
Here's what you will need:
  · 1 Celebrity Beef Brisket, flat cut (about 3 1/2 lbs.)
  · 1 tsp. garlic powder or 2 garlic cloves, minced
  · 2 large onions, medium dice
  · 3 carrots, diced
  · 2 tbsp. tomato paste
  · 1 tsp. sugar
  · Salt and Pepper to taste
  · 3 tbsp. chicken fat or vegetable oil
  · 1 tsp. flour
  · 1 1/2 cups beef or chicken broth

Coat frozen brisket with flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder or garlic cloves and brown in heavy skillet on all sides over medium high heat. Toss in chopped onion and carrots, then mix together tomato paste, sugar, and beef broth and pour over meat and vegetables. Cover pan tightly, bring to boil, then quickly reduce to very low simmer for about 2 1/2 hours or until very tender. Serve in its own juices with vegetables on the side.

Serve with latkes (potato pancakes), applesauce or jam, and sour cream.


Latkes (Potato Pancakes) Latkes (Potato Pancakes) (Serves 6-8)
Here's what you will need:
  · 1 tub Celebrity Potato Pancake batter, defrosted

Heat lightly greased skillet or griddles to about 350 degrees F. Spoon about 2 tablespoons potato pancake batter onto hot surface and cook on both sides for about 3 minutes until golden brown. Serve with applesauce, jam, and sour cream.
