Grilled Pastrami Sandwiches on Rye with Swiss Cheese (Serves 4-6)
Here's what you'll need:
• 1 pkg. Celebrity Sliced Pastrami
(about .75 lbs.)
• 4 large slices Swiss Cheese
• 1/3 cup Dijon mustard
• 8 slices Rye Bread
• Butter
Heat griddle or skillet over medium low heat. Butter bread slice on one side. Place bread butter-side down and top with Swiss cheese slice and pastrami slices, and warm Caraway Sauerkraut. Top with another bread slice spread with butter on one side and Dijon mustard on the other sides. Turn sandwich on griddle until cheese melts and bread is toasted. Serve warm.
Caraway Sauerkraut (Serves 4)
Here's what you'll need:
• 1 teaspoon whole caraway seed
• 1 cup sauerkraut, drained
• 1/4 cup white wine
Toast the caraway seed in a hot dry pan for 30 seconds. Add the sauerkraut and wine to the pan and continue to cook over medium high heat for a few more minutes or until most of the moisture has evaporated. Serve warm.
